Getting started

Is TravelGPT free to use?

Searching, chatting and price alerts are free, forever. We earn a commission from the agency or airline when you book — the same commission they'd pay any comparison site. Membership tiers are optional and only add discounts, loyalty multipliers and perks.

Do I need an account to search?

No. You can chat, see live fares and browse the deal board without signing up. You only sign in when you want to open a booking request, arm a price alert, or use your wallet.

How do I actually search?

Type a sentence, the way you'd text a travel agent: "Cheap flights to Bali in March under $900". The AI reads intent, dates, budget and flexibility — no dropdowns, no fifteen filters. Trip-type chips (Flights, Stays, Packages, Things to do, Cruises) focus the search if you already know what you want.

Prices & deals

Are the prices on this site real?

Yes — and unusually, every published fare passed a human review first. Our AI collects fares from live searches, then a reviewer confirms the price and route before it appears publicly. Anything that fails the check never reaches you. Each fare also carries a validity window so you know how long it stands.

How do you find prices other sites don't?

Two ways. First, we search far wider than a single inventory feed — 1,500+ airlines, OTAs, consolidators and regional agencies. Second, when nobody has a good price for your route, we open your request to agencies who then bid against each other for your booking.

What is the deal board?

The Best Deals board is the full list of currently published, human-reviewed fares — filterable and sortable. The homepage shows only today's picks; the board carries everything.

Why do fares sometimes expire?

Because real fares expire. Airlines reprice constantly; a published fare shows its validity window, and when it lapses we remove it rather than bait you with a price that no longer exists.

Complex & multi-city bookings

Can I book a multi-city trip in one request?

Yes — this is where TravelGPT earns its keep. Describe the whole itinerary in one message: "London → Bali March 12, Bali → Tokyo March 20, Tokyo → home April 2, two adults and a child." The AI keeps every leg in context, and your booking request goes to agencies as one job, so connections, layovers and hotel nights line up instead of you stitching six separate bookings together.

Can I mix flights, hotels, cars and transfers?

Yes. Ask for any combination — flight + 4-star hotel near the beach + airport transfer + travel insurance. The composer accepts long, detailed briefs (it expands as you type), and agencies bid on the full package.

What about group travel?

State the group size and constraints ("8 friends, split across two hotel rooms, budget $700 each"). Agencies see the full brief and bid with group rates that never appear on consumer booking sites.

How is this different from doing it myself on an OTA?

An OTA shows you one inventory feed and wishes you luck. TravelGPT searches 1,500+ sources, has a human check the fare, and — when no good price exists — lets agencies compete for your booking. Read the full comparison on How we work.

Booking & payment

Do you actually handle the booking?

Yes. Accept an offer and we create the booking, take payment, and hold the provider to a confirmation reference. Everything — bookings, alerts, wallet, receipts — lives in your cabinet. Cancel within the allowed window and the credit returns automatically.

How do I pay?

Card via Stripe or Braintree, PayPal, or crypto through Coinbase Commerce. You can also top up a Travel Wallet and pay from credit — wallet payments carry zero booking fees, and refunds land back in your wallet instantly if a booking is cancelled.

Are there hidden fees?

No. The price you accept is the price you pay. Discounts are funded from our commission — they never inflate the provider's base price. Wallet payments carry zero booking fees at all.

What happens if I cancel?

Within the provider's allowed window, the paid amount returns to your Travel Wallet as credit, instantly. VIP members get two flex-cancellations per year up to 48 hours before departure.

Price alerts

What exactly is a price alert?

Tell the chat to monitor a route and we watch that exact trip around the clock across every source we track. The moment the fare drops — or falls under a target you set — you get pinged. Most travellers arm an alert and book two to three weeks later at a materially lower price.

Do alerts cost anything?

No — price alerts are free for everyone, including signed-out visitors once they create an account to attach the alert to. Members simply get notified earlier on flash deals (2h early on Premium, 6h on VIP).

Can you rebook automatically when the price drops?

Auto-rebook monitors your existing booking and, when the same itinerary drops, notifies you to confirm the switch. The rebook only happens with your approval — we never change a confirmed trip silently.

Plans & wallet

What do the paid plans add?

Premium ($35/mo) takes 5% off every booking, triples your Super Ticket raffle entries and shows flash deals 2 hours early. VIP ($99/mo) takes 8% off, adds airport transfers, lounge passes and flex-cancel. Full comparison on the plans page.

How does paying with wallet credits work?

Credits can cover up to 50% of any booking (minimum $25 card payment), with a $200/month redemption allowance. Raffle winnings, affiliate commissions, Growth Point conversions and top-ups all live in the same wallet.

Can I cancel a plan anytime?

Yes. Plans renew monthly and cancel at the end of the paid period — you keep the perks until then. No lock-in, no cancellation fee.

Affiliates

How does the affiliate program pay?

A performance ladder from 3% (Explorer) to 7% (Legend) of completed referred bookings — your rate climbs with lifetime referred bookings, never with a purchased subscription. Commissions are credited to your Travel Wallet. Details and the earnings calculator are on the affiliate page.

Does it cost anything to join as an affiliate?

No — the program is free. You get a personal referral link, landing page and a banner kit in your portal, plus real click/signup/booking analytics.

Agencies & providers

How do agencies join and bid on requests?

Register as a provider, get verified by our team, and client booking requests matching your inventory appear in your portal. You bid with a real, confirmable price; the client picks the offer they like. Commission runs 5–10% depending on your tier.

Why the human review queue?

Every fare — whether collected by our parser or submitted by an agency — passes a reviewer before it reaches clients. It keeps bait pricing and phantom inventory off the platform, which is exactly why travellers trust the fares they see.
